DEEP SOUTH VOICES

DEEP SOUTH VOICES are an Atlanta-based gospel collective delivering uplifting, soulful, and spiritually charged performances that transcend genre boundaries.

The group features lead vocalist Jonas Chandler, singer Monique Rayne, additional vocalists Tanya Belle, Sharice Hall, Edwin Brooks, and Will Rivers, pianist and keyboardist Marcus Ellington, guitarist Tyrone T. Lawson, bassist Reggie Cole, and drummer Ray Griffith.

Their sound blends the emotional depth of gospel with elements of R&B, soul, and funk, creating a powerful and joyful musical experience that resonates across cultures and generations.

Driven by layered harmonies, dynamic call-and-response vocals, and rich live instrumentation, the group brings energy, inspiration, and emotional intensity to every performance. Their music moves effortlessly between moments of intimate reflection and explosive collective praise, balancing spiritual tradition with modern sonic textures.

At the heart of DEEP SOUTH VOICES lies a belief in music as a unifying force: a language of hope, resilience, and celebration designed to lift spirits and connect audiences through shared emotion.

Formed in Atlanta in 2015, DEEP SOUTH VOICES represent a modern interpretation of Southern gospel heritage. Rooted in the spiritual foundation of traditional gospel music, the collective refuses to be confined by a single genre, allowing their sound to flow naturally through R&B warmth, soulful phrasing, and rhythmic funk undertones.

The group operates as a rotating ensemble of singers and musicians, reflecting a living, evolving musical community rather than a fixed lineup. This fluid structure allows each performance to feel fresh and responsive while maintaining a recognizable vocal identity.

At the helm stands lead singer Jonas Chandler, whose expressive and commanding voice guides the ensemble through rich harmonies and powerful melodic dialogues. Alongside him, a core group of vocalists and musicians shape the collective’s signature sound, one that honors tradition while embracing contemporary expression.

DEEP SOUTH VOICES see gospel not as a stylistic label but as an emotional foundation: music rooted in spirit, connection, and shared human experience.
