NURHEX

NURHEX are a Jacksonville-based ska reggae band delivering fast-paced rhythms, punchy hooks, and explosive live energy. Blending ska punk urgency with reggae bounce, pop-rock melodies, and alternative/new wave attitude, their sound is energetic, rebellious, upbeat, playful, bouncy, edgy, and relentlessly fun.

NURHEX feature Matias Rodriguez (lead vocals), Isabel Marino (backing vocals), Roberto Alvarado (guitar), Tony Garcia (bass), James Garcia (drums), Milo Torres (keyboards), Samantha Harper (violin), and horn players Dennis Jones and Sam Wilson.

Driven by infectious offbeat guitar skanks, tight rhythm sections, vibrant horn lines, and dynamic vocals, NURHEX create songs designed to move crowds instantly.

Their music balances raw momentum with catchy songwriting, making every track feel like an open invitation to jump, dance, and sing along.

NURHEX thrive on contrast: sunny grooves with sharp edges, playful melodies with punk attitude, and a live-first approach that turns every show into a shared release of energy.

NURHEX were formed in Jacksonville by musicians united by a love for rhythm, movement, and unapologetic fun. Rather than treating ska and reggae as nostalgia, the band reinterprets these styles through a modern, alternative lens: faster, louder, and built for contemporary audiences.

Their creative process starts with rhythm and bounce. Songs are constructed around tight drum patterns, elastic bass lines, and horn riffs that feel immediate and physical. Pop-punk urgency and alternative rock dynamics add edge, keeping the sound fresh and forward-moving.

NURHEX see music as collective motion, something that belongs to the crowd as much as to the band. Every performance is designed to feel inclusive, explosive, and impossible to stand still to.
