About
THE BITCHFIELDS are a charismatic British Britpop band inspired by the melodic guitars, memorable choruses, and unmistakable energy of 1990s British music. Combining dry humour, emotional honesty, family chemistry, and an easy-going sense of confidence, the band bring the spirit of classic Britpop into a fresh and contemporary setting.
The band is built around a close family connection. Brothers Oliver “Ollie” Bitchfield on bass and Harry Bitchfield on drums are joined by their cousins, Charlie Bitchfield on lead vocals and Jamie Bitchfield on guitar.
Having grown up together, the four musicians share a natural understanding that can be heard throughout their music. Years of shared memories, private jokes, friendly disagreements, and family stories have created a chemistry that feels relaxed, genuine, and spontaneous. Onstage, they perform with the familiarity of people who know each other’s instincts and enjoy making music together.
THE BITCHFIELDS combine bright guitar riffs, melodic basslines, clockwork drums, and distinctive vocals. Their songs are shaped by catchy hooks, uplifting choruses, and lyrics that explore friendship, romance, ambition, disappointment, nostalgia, and everyday British life.
Musically, they draw inspiration from the golden age of Britpop, guitar-driven indie rock, and melodic alternative music. Their sound moves naturally between lively, upbeat anthems and more reflective songs about relationships, missed opportunities, ordinary frustrations, and the desire to find something better.
With their strong visual identity, playful personality, and natural stage presence, THE BITCHFIELDS celebrate everything that made British guitar music feel exciting, relatable, and full of character.
Background
THE BITCHFIELDS were formed in the United Kingdom by four members of the same extended family who grew up surrounded by records, football conversations, second-hand guitars, noisy rehearsals, and long discussions about the British bands that defined the 80s and 90s.
Brothers Ollie and Harry first began playing music together at home, gradually developing a close and energetic rhythm section. Ollie’s melodic bass playing provided a strong musical foundation, while Harry’s lively drumming brought movement, personality, and momentum to their early songs.
Their cousins Charlie and Jamie soon joined them. Charlie brought a distinctive and expressive vocal style, combining confidence, warmth, humour, and occasional vulnerability. Jamie completed the band’s sound with melodic guitar lines, memorable riffs, and a natural ability to turn simple musical ideas into catchy songs.
What began as informal family rehearsals gradually developed into a serious creative project. Their shared background gave them an immediate musical connection, while their different personalities brought variety and character to the songwriting process.
The band’s lyrics are inspired by the people, places, and situations they encounter in everyday life. Their songs explore relationships, friendship, social ambition, nightlife, family expectations, local characters, small disappointments, and the humour hidden inside ordinary experiences.
Rather than simply recreating the sound of another era, THE BITCHFIELDS use Britpop as a creative starting point. They retain the strong melodies, guitar-driven arrangements, playful humour, and distinctly British perspective associated with the genre while introducing modern production and stories that speak to contemporary listeners.
At the heart of THE BITCHFIELDS is a genuine family bond. They encourage one another, exchange ideas, joke constantly, and occasionally disagree, but their shared history keeps the music honest and gives the band its distinctive personality.
THE BITCHFIELDS make music for listeners who appreciate memorable melodies, real guitars, relatable stories, and bands with a strong sense of identity. Their songs are nostalgic without feeling dated, energetic without losing emotional depth, and humorous without becoming cynical.
Above all, THE BITCHFIELDS want their music to feel welcoming, entertaining, and familiar: the kind of music that brings people together, invites them to sing along, and reminds them why a great guitar song can still make an ordinary day feel special.
